These exquisite
chairs are inspired by some great designs of the 1960's and 70's. The

The Nirvana Chair
is far more than a simple sculptural statement: we have fashioned it to
follow the natural shape of the reclining body, so that whilst being a
fabrication, it has an organic form which merges seamlessly with its
environment.
The concept of
form creating function becomes apparent when one is seated: this is an
experience blending the impression of security with freedom. The chair's
contours hold the body snugly whilst allowing a feeling of
weightlessness to develop with its gentle motion. An alternative to the
stand is suspension from a suitable ceiling joist, which creates the
surreal effect of floating in mid air.
A typically
stunning setting is alongside a pool, where it becomes alive with moving
reflections.
When creating
furniture, our aspiration towards beauty would be pointless without
practicality and for this reason Nirvana Chairs can support comfortably
18 stones in weight. Each chair and stand is hand built by a Master
Craftsman from a high grade stainless steel, which is signed and dated,
then polished to a mirror finish. Stainless steel has a high resistance
to corrosion and this allows the chair to be used both inside and
outside the home. Consequently each chair will become a lasting
treasure, with minimum maintenance.
