2.The Waterfront
Tradition tells that the Roman Emperor Vespasian (AD 69-79) had
a residence here. There are parts of a Roman basilica built into
the Saxon chursh which was once a Royal Chapel connected with
Canute, King of Denmark, Norway and England. In medieval times
Bosham was an important port. Today it remains unspoilt; a centre
for yachtsmen and artists. |

3. The High Street
The narrow high street, lined with old cottages and houses, leads
to the church and Quay Meadow. |

4.The Old Mill
The old watermill today is the headquaters for the local sailing
club. |

5.The Raptackle
The old barn-like structure is known as the Raptackle. Formerly
it housed rope and gear for busy shipping. |

6. Holy Trinity Church
The oldest site of Christianity
in Sussex. For over 1600 years Christians have worshipped here.
The tower may have been built as a watchtower. During Danish
raids the women and children were taken up the tower for safety. |
